Lady Grey Matcha Latte: A Refreshing Matcha Latte with a Twist

Some mornings call for a little extra magic — something familiar, but with a twist. Enter this dreamy iced matcha latte made with Appalachian Lady Grey–infused oat milk. It’s cozy, floral, citrusy, and totally customizable, with soft lavender and bergamot notes swirling through each sip.  Our favorite matcha brand to use is Matcha Nude, a woman-owned brand based here in Western North Carolina.

This isn’t just a one-trick pony, either — once you infuse milk with Appalachian Lady Grey, you can use it in all sorts of cozy drinks: hot chocolate, chai lattes, or even your standard morning latte for a delicate boost of flavor. This one simple step turns everyday beverages into something a little bit special.

Why Infuse Milk with Tea?

We love infusing milk with loose leaf tea because it’s an easy way to add complexity without fuss. Appalachian Lady Grey brings in soft black tea, a bright hit of citrus, and floral lavender that plays so nicely with matcha’s earthiness — but this also works beautifully with cocoa or coffee. It’s like flavor layering for your mug.


Lady Grey-Infused Matcha Latte Recipe

Servings: 1 | Prep Time: 5 minutes + overnight steep

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz oat milk (or any milk you like)
  • 2 Tbsp Appalachian Lady Grey loose leaf tea
  • 1 serving of matcha (typically 1/4 tsp matcha + 2 oz hot water)
  • Ice
  • Optional: sweetener (honey, maple syrup, vanilla syrup, etc.)

Instructions:

  • Steep the milk:
    In a jar or container, combine 8 oz of oat milk with 2 Tbsp of Appalachian Lady Grey. Cover and refrigerate overnight (8–12 hours).
  • Strain:
    Strain out the tea using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  • Make the latte: In a glass of ice pour:
    • 2 oz of the Lady Grey-infused oat milk
    • 4 oz of plain oat milk (or a splash of cream for extra richness)
  • Top it off:
    Slowly pour in your prepared matcha.
  • Stir & enjoy:
    Sweeten if desired, stir, and sip! Adjust the ratio depending on how bold you want the Lady Grey flavor.

Variations to Try:

  • Swap matcha for espresso or strong black tea for a more traditional latte with a twist.
  • Heat up the infused milk and use it in hot cocoa for a cozy floral surprise.
  • Add a splash of vanilla syrup or honey for extra sweetness and depth.
