Thoughtfully Sourced. Hand Blended.

Exceptional tea begins with exceptional ingredients, chosen with care and blended by hand in Marshall, North Carolina.

Our Ingredients

Every cup of Full Moon Tea begins long before it reaches our blending table.

Tea is an agricultural product, shaped by the soil, climate, growing practices, and people who produce it. That is why we choose our ingredients intentionally, working primarily with trusted importers and cooperatives that prioritize quality, traceability, responsible sourcing, and long-term relationships with growers.

We may make the final magic here in Marshall, North Carolina, but our ingredients come from farms and growing regions around the world. We believe honoring those ingredients means knowing where they come from, choosing suppliers whose standards align with ours, and letting every leaf, fruit, flower, herb, and spice taste like what it actually is.

Our Tea Leaves

Our tea leaves primarily come from Royal New York, a family-run specialty tea importer with relationships throughout the global tea industry.

Royal New York requires Certificates of Analysis from its producers, conducts visual, aroma, and taste evaluations on new arrivals, and cups teas for quality and consistency. Its facility operates under Good Manufacturing Practices and undergoes annual food-safety audits. Learn more about Royal New York’s quality standards.

Through them, we are able to select teas from the regions where they grow best, including Ceylon black tea from Sri Lanka, Assam from India, sencha from Japan, white tea from China, and rooibos and honeybush from South Africa.

Our Herbs, Spices & Botanicals

Many of the herbs, spices, fruits, and botanicals in our blends come from Frontier Co-op, a member-owned cooperative that has been sourcing herbs and spices for 50 years.

Frontier maintains extensive traceability and quality-testing programs, including botanical identification, microbiological testing, and evaluations for taste, aroma, appearance, purity, and adulteration. More than 80% of its products are organically sourced, and its responsible sourcing program works to support sustainable agriculture and better conditions within grower communities. Learn more about Frontier Co-op’s sourcing and traceability.

We especially value having a reliable source for botanicals that are vibrant, fragrant, carefully handled, and tested before they ever arrive at our door.

Real Ingredients. No Beige Tea.

When we say strawberry, we mean actual strawberries. When we say ginger, lavender, apple, hibiscus, peach, or peppermint, you will find those ingredients right there in the bag.

We do not build our blends around vague “natural flavors” designed to imitate the real thing. We choose whole tea leaves, recognizable botanicals, real fruits, flowers, herbs, and spices, then combine them in small batches until every ingredient has a reason to be there.

Nothing is added simply to make an ingredient list look impressive. Every piece should contribute flavor, aroma, color, texture, or balance to the cup.

Blended by Hand in Marshall, North Carolina

Once our ingredients arrive, every Full Moon Tea blend is made by hand in our Marshall workshop.

We weigh each ingredient, blend every batch, fill every pouch, and track our production from raw ingredient to finished tea. This hands-on process lets us watch for consistency, protect the integrity of delicate leaves and botanicals, and make sure the tea inside your bag is the tea we intended you to experience.

Thoughtful sourcing is not a badge we add to the website. It is part of how we make tea that tastes alive.
